Full Moon (Supermoon)
October 17, 2024 All day
The October full moon is traditionally known as the Hunter’s Moon or the Blood Moon.
The Hunter’s Moon name comes from the fact that it was a time when hunters would stock up on meat for the winter. The Blood Moon name comes from its reddish hue, which is caused by sunlight scattering through dust particles in the atmosphere.
The Hunter’s Moon is associated with courage, strength, and transformation. It is a time to release what is no longer serving you and to embrace new beginnings.
These traditional names offer a glimpse into the observations and experiences of past societies, connecting lunar cycles to the natural world and its rhythms.
